Pink Ginger Lemonade & Champagne Slush Punch

It’s the season of hot yellow sun, backyard barbecues and summer dresses. And to that lovely list, we add: slushy pink ginger lemonade topped with pink champagne. The perfect cocktail sipper for pool parties, late night gatherings on the patio and brunches with favorite friends. We love this drink because it’s splendidly simple to make. And a bright, slushy cup of this pretty pastel drink is the perfect end cap to any 90º day.

Get Your Sparkle Started

To serve this drink at your next shindig, you’ll need to plan for 24 hours of prep. The recipe is simple, but the slush requires a full night in the freezer. So plan ahead, gathering all supplies at least one day before you plan to serve.

Simple Prep Steps

The night before it’s time to party (and up to 2 weeks in advance), grab a crystal pitcher and stir together pink lemonade, ginger ale and triple sec. Pour into freezer-safe containers (like these Pyrex food storage containers) and freeze. The triple sec will keep the mixture from freezing firm, making it simple to smash it into a slushy.

It’s Party Time

Several minutes before serving, remove the frozen slush, mash and smash until slushed, and place into a punch bowl (<– one of our favorites because of it’s clean lines and modern look. This is not your grandma’s punch bowl…thank goodness).

Don’t panic if your frozen mixture is still a big block of ice. It will quickly turn into the right texture once champagne is added.

Speaking of champagne, time to pop that bubbly! Pour into the punch bowl, then use a wooden spoon to mix until slushy. Serve in stemless wine glasses, garnished with a sprig of mint and enjoy.

Rave Reviews

We prepped this punch for a room full of friends, most of which turned out to be burly men, arriving at the party after a long day of landscaping. Stemless wine glasses teetering in their calloused hands, they sipped and sighed, “this just hits the spot” friend Hans said, before reaching to fill his glass again.

The perfect summer slush punch for parties. And apparently, for landscapers, too.
