Put away those baking dishes and pull out that blender! If your January is anything like mine, it’s a fresh new month full of resolutions. And after a season full of indulgent eating, goal numero uno is now: start the day off right.
And what better way than to pack your sunrise full of fruits and veggies. More specifically, greens. Those lovely things all the nutrition experts say we need more of. Those lovely leaves I so often forget to eat.
But that’s officially changing. Because this month, every morning gets kissed with a green smoothie. There’s not an easier way to pack in a full day of plant-based goodness.
Though it’s easy to toss a bunch of stuff into the blender, I think it’s even nicer to create smoothies that support specific nutritional needs. Whether you’re on the hunt for more protein, added collagen, natural energy, an immunity boost, or digestive detox, stick the right stuff in your smoothie, and you can get more of the good stuff into your diet.
With this idea in mind, here are three smoothies I always crave in January. With ingredients that offer a happy boost from Mother Nature.

Or just wanna kick bloating from a weekend of overboard eating.

NEW YEAR, FRESH STYLE
If you’re as in love with little bowls, plates and pretty things for your kitchen, here are a few fresh finds. Tiny, colorful terracotta prep bowls from Now Designs are perfect for pulling together tablespoons full of ingredients (think: chia & hemp seeds, honey, apple cider vinegar).
Stunning Skandia Knives from Hampton Forge are currently making my kitchen look like a Nordic dream space. Everytime I get to pull them from the drawers for chopping, these beautiful wooden handled knives with stunning designs on the blades make we weak in the knees. So gorgeous. They’d make a perfect gift for foodie friends, but I’m afraid I just want to buy them all for me.
Marble meets gold with the Godinger Cake plate. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. While this small cake plate certainly looks gorgeous with a cake on it. I love using the stand for everything from displaying party foods in pretty tiers to placing my plants on a variety of levels for visual effect. Seriously, don’t know what I ever did without this beautiful piece in my life.
