Host a Fun Game Night In

Have you heard that staying in is officially the new going out? I am having a hard time containing my excitement!

As much as I love getting dressed up and going out with friends or checking out a new restaurant on date night, sometimes a gal just wants to stay in and hygge on.

While binge watching your favorite (and those B list shows you watch after you’ve gone through everything else) shows and laying low definitely has it’s place, some times it’s fun to get the gang together and throw a little something at your place. It’s officially tie to resurrect that good ol’ fashioned game night!

You can go big and send out e-vites, whip up some DIY menus and stir sticks, or you can just have everyone bring their favorite game, stock up on supplies and hunker down for a great night of friendly competition.

This weekend, we invited some friends over and did just that! Everyone brought a new game (who knew there were so many?!) or a childhood favorite and we went to town.

We made a fire, got comfy on the most delicious new spring pillows from Shiraleah, chilled a few bottles of champagne in our Mr. Bucket ice buckets, and had a blast! My husband thought it might be fun to do a little whiskey taste testing (what is it about sipping whiskey by a fire that makes it taste so good?) and these Cuisivin whiskey flights made us feel fancy while playing taste tester.

It was one of the most relaxed, low-key nights we have had in a long time and it was an absolute blast! Stock up on some popcorn and nuts, or order in while everyone is playing, and just be a kid again — I promise, it will be wildly refreshing.

If staying in means game nights with friends, then I am ready for this trend to stay!
