We’re Mad for This Plaid Holiday Tablescape

Every year around the holidays I always find myself picking through new and trendy holiday looks at Target and H&M Home but I always come back to one thing… PLAID!

Most of my holiday décor is filled with prints like tartan, buffalo check and plaid. I know that no matter what is trendy, looks like this are timeless. Without a doubt, I know that a decade from now I’ll still love my plaid finds.

Plaid stands out so well on it’s own, but during the holidays it can also act as a neutral! I can dress up plaid pillow clusters with fur and graphic prints but I can also let it shine on it’s own with a chunky blanket.

This year I’m decking out my holiday table with black and red buffalo check plaid. This is my favorite plaid print and anything you pair with it will instantly pop!

I love to keep holiday tables simple with one main overall theme and tie in seasonal elements like fresh pine leaves and mistletoe! The anchor to my table this year was my Now Designs buffalo check table runner and placemats.

The runner and placemats hold down the look and make everything feel cohesive. Holiday dinners are usually filled with tons of options so I opted for a large coupe plate from Fortessa.

One of my biggest pet peeves of a tablescape is when it looks straight out of a department store! Be sure to add in some cozy winter items that will help give your plaid look a more lived in feel! I drape things like cozy blankets and add fluffy pillows for extra warmth.

During the winter I love lacing in metallic elements like copper mugs and gold utensils to help give more of a special feel to the table. Plus, metallic and plaid are always a fun combo!

Last but not least, light some candles! It will instantly create a warmer and cozy ambiance!
