At VIF Studio, it’s all about simplicity. So when the design team was approached with the blank canvas of a 1,900 sq. ft San Francisco apartment, they knew just what to do. Their plan? Create a home that was not only aesthetically pleasing but a reflection of the tastes and interests of the client. The result is a minimal yet inviting space filled with unique, timeless and locally made pieces—all the way down to the cutting boards. See how the team totally transformed this Cow Hollow abode below.
Sweet Dreams
The Poliform Arca Thin bed in cloud grey and flax linen bedding create a welcoming space for sleep, plus a neutral striped cashmere throw at the end of the bed adds an extra touch of luxury.
Fine Dining
They created a separate dining area in the open concept living space with DWR Mantis chairs and a classic Saarinen tulip table beneath a unique pendant light.
Room With a View
Poliform seating, gold accents, patterned rugs and greenery add depth to the otherwise stark white walls.
Take a Seat
Handmade Pinch Design barstools sit under the waterfall countertop island, while DWR Swell pendant lights hang above. Little additions like Takashi Endo ceramics throughout the kitchen add to the modern look.
Mirror Mirror
We love the simplicity of this entryway, complete with BDDW console table and hanging mirror.
Bright Idea
Just a few simple accents strategically place on this simple nightstand give the bedroom a lived-in yet minimalistic vibe.
R&R
The team takes advantage of visual space on this small patio. A large patterned indoor-outdoor rug, see-through metal chairs and plants situated in pots of different heights (check out that Modernica Case Study planter!) trick the eye and make this balcony feel grand.
