Ingredients

  • 2 cups steel cut oats
  • 7.5 cups water
  • 1.5 cups diced apple
  • .5 tsp cinnamon
  • .5 tsp vanilla
  • .125 tsp salt
  • 3-4 Toppings of Your Choice:
  • Brown sugar
  • Honey
  • Butter
  • Raisins
  • Walnuts
  • Pecans
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Coconut flakes
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Blueberries
  • Almonds
  • Strawberries
  • Chia Seeds

Instructions

  • In a large stock pot or Dutch oven, bring water and oats to a boil, reduce heat cover and simmer for 2 minutes. Add apples and cover. Allow to cool and put pot covered, in fridge overnight.
  • In the morning, simmer to heat for 10 minutes. Add vanilla, and cinnamon. Transfer to a slow cooker on low to keep warm. Serve with topping “bar."
