Sweet Maple & Vanilla Bean Popcorn Seasoning


8 cups of popcorn

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 teaspoon (a heavy pinch) flaked salt for garnish
  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. In a heavy bottom saucepan on the stove, bring dark brown sugar, butter and maple syrup to a boil. Continue to boil, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and add vanilla bean paste, maple extract, and baking soda. Let it cool slightly before proceeding to step 2.
  2. On a lined cookie sheet, pour mixture over popcorn, mix to coat evenly. Sprinkle flaked salt over top and let popcorn set up in the oven, about 10 minutes. Cool completely and enjoy.
